DEEP RAIDS INTO ENEMY COUNTRY.
! RAI. ACTIVITY, Many Bases In Germans' Damaged. DAY AND NIGHT ATTACKS. '■ British Official Wireless. ■ (Bcccivcd 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Juno 25. The Air Ministry announced: "Yesterday our bombers, although hampered by bad visibility, attacked aerodromes at Eindhoven, Schipol and Waalliaven. These arc bases in territory occupied by Germany, from which enemy bombers can set out to attack this country. Operations were continued during the night. Schipol was again attacked, and also flu aerodrome at Do Kookooy. Aerodromes at llulhcim, in the Euhr urea, and Kaesel, in Weetphaliu, were also bombed. Other formations of our bombers attacked the naval base at Holder, where an explosion and fires were caused. At Dortmund, in the Ruhr, oil depots and marshalling yards were bombed, j also targets at Kamen. At Dortmund and Kassel aircraft works were set ou fire. Raids Hear Bremen. Aerodrome buildings and aircraft works at DcKhshausen, near Bremen, were also attacked. Other aircraft bombed Dortmund and the Emms Canal, where, the lock gates and barges were hit. Railway junctions and stations near Emmerich, between the Kuhr and tlie Dutch frontier, were also damaged. All our aircraft returned eafcly from both dny and night operations. One Anson aircraft, of the Coastal Command, was attacked by four Mcsserschmitt eiiiglc-engiucd fighters while on patrol over the English Channel. In the ensuing engagement one Messerechmitt was shot down in flames, while the other enemy fighters abandoned pursuit. Our aircraft returned safely to its base.
