Believed to. be .due to the effect of floating oil from the Niagara, heavy mortality is occurring among penguins in the Xorth. The birds" wings become clogged with the oil and they arc unable to swim. Many (lend birds Giave been washed up on the Wnipu and neighbouring beaches.
