THE ANTI-CHRIST? FREE PATTERN SERVICE. This week's issue of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly" contains photographs of women of the National Service Corps, a voluntary organisation which has been drilling since the beginning of the war. This women's army lias already rendered useful service durng the influenza epidemic, and the article, which is entitled "For God, King and Country," shows the splendid spirit which exists among these girls, who are ready to give whatever service their country may need of them.
"All Has Been Prophesied!" i~ the name of an interesting article which deals with a prophecy that is 440 years
old. It seems possible that the antichrist which the prophecy describee could be interpreted as Hitler, and readers will find (the prophesied outcome of the conflict exceedingly interest-
Garden-lorers will appreciate the article and photographs concerning the lovely garden of Colonel and Mrs. Noel Adams. This week's issue also contains another instalment of Hcdda Dyson's travel diary, which deals with war-hysteria in Manhattan. There is ithe usual quota of fiction—two short stories and a generous instalment of the exciting myetery serial, "Hasty Wedding," while the cooking page contains some delicious and healthful soup recipes. Deajina Durbin is the subject of an interesting article in this week's issue. By the time Deanna is 21 she will have 1.000,000 dollars in the bank, and the article describes this young singer's reaction to the eudden wealth which came after her success in pictures.
A choice from six free patterns is offered readers this week. The patterns include three, attractive frocks, a maternity house frock and two tailored coats for the young girl and her small brother.
