INDIA EXPANDING DEFENCES. (Received 11.30 a.m.) NEW DELHI, June 19. The Viceroy of India, the Marquess of Linlithgow, announced that a special emissary was going to America to place orders for arms as a preliminary to an immediate programme to purchase arms abroad. He added that India's defences were being expanded to the highest -oint.
