HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.
PATIENTS ASSISTED, GOODS DISTRIBUTED. . In the absence of the president, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, the monthly meeting of the council of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary was presided over by" the vice-president, Mrs. J. W. Craven. Tho reports showed activities were still being carried., on at the Auckland Hospital, Mental Hospital, Alexandra Convalescent Home, Wilson Home, Epsom Infirmary and the T.B. Shelters. In the report presented by the secretary, Miss L. Curson, if; showed that the wards had been visited by the auxiliary hospital visitors. Needy cases had been reported to the depot and the necessary help given them. Wards had been supplied with dressing gowns, slippers, bed jackets, nightgowns and bed socks. Patients in hospital liad been supplied with clothing, while the district nurses had been given many garments for'their patients in the district. Extra nourishment had also been supplied to the district nurses for distribution where necessary. Several patients had been assisted with faros to get to hospital daily for treatment. Several patients had received orders for extra, nourishment, coal,' groceries, meat and milk. A quantity of wool was purchased to be made by the nurses' branch into children's wear. Materials had also been bought to be made into children's dresses. The usual hampers of sewing had been sent into tho depot from the sewing circle. The shelters and the infirmary had been visited and sweets and books distributed. Many magazines had been sent to the depot, and had been given out to the wards. In all 243 garments had been distributed for the month, and 40 families had been assisted in various ways.
