DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR.
FINES AT KAITAIA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) KAITAIA, this day. Puku Ngawaka, a Maori, of Herekino, appeared in the Kaitaia Police Court on charges of using obscene language and behaving in a threatening manner in a public place. A plea of not guilty was withdrawn after the police evidence had been given. A fine of £5 was imposed on the firet charge and on the second defendant was convicted and ordered' to pay 10/ costs. An Auckland seaman, Okaio Russell, was charged with disorderly behaviour at a public dance at Kaitaia. Accused, who did not appear, but had previously given a statement to the police admitting the offence, was fined £2 10/ and 10/ coste.
