ON 'CHANGE.

VALUES GENERALLY LOWER EFFECT OF WAR NEWS. GOOD DEAL OF BUSING.

A good deal of business was done at the morning call of tha Auckland Stock Exchange, but values were generally lower. The market was a reflection of the unfavourable war news. The sales covered a wider range, and in all execpt two cases falls were registered. Broken Hill Proprietaries are now down to £1 10/3, after a previous sale reported at the same call of £2. Woolworths (Sydney) dropped Cd to sell at 15/2. The two exceptions were Wilsons Cement, which maintained the previous level of )5/f), and Auckland (!;w perpetual debenture Stock which sold at .£lOl. Better Noon Call. Though the market was still hesitant, the tone was a shade better at the nooa call. There was more life in the bidding. Government stocks and local body debentures are firm, and there is steady business being done in them. Both New Zealand and Sydney Woolworths quotations firmed, though in the caae of the Sydney firm the sale price at the norm call wan lower than this morning. SALES COMPLETED.
