REFUGEE CHILDREN.
Tlie register of those prepared.to olYor homes in Auckland to refugee children from the war zone is to be closed temporarily to-morrow. So far there have been offers to take 874 children in all, and by to-morrow it is expected that the total will have reached 1000. The special committee set up under the chairmanship of the Rev. F. Copeland will consider the applications at a meeting 011 Thursday, and will then advise the Government regarding the share that Auckland is prepared to take ill such a scheme.
