EMPIRE AIR ROUTE.
AUSTRALIA TO EGYPT.
MAINTENANCE OF SERVICE
The weekly air service between Australia and Egypt is to bo maintained. This information is contained in a Press Association cable from Sydney, in which the managing director of Qantas Airways, Mr. Hudson Fysli, said that the service would link up with the land 'piano service between Africa and England. The latter service, however, would not at present carry either passengers or public mails. Last week Mr. Hudson Fysli announced that the Empire service was being reorganised in conformity with prearranged plans to maintain air connections between Australia and England in the event of war with Italy. It is pointed out in Auckland that the services referred to in the message from j Sydney are practically the normal ones.
