NEWTON AND SHORE TO MEET.

Reporting to tho Auckland Rucbv League Control Board last evening, 1110 secretary, Mr. Ivan Culpan, said all unitts ot tho League were preparing enthusiastically for the patriotic "Harrow I)av," to be held in the city to-morrow week in aid of the .Sick and Wounded Soldiers' rund. Many decorated wheelbarrows were 'being entered lor the Queen Street parade, Which was expected to I>e even inorc spectacular than tlie euc-ccssful vifort made at Chrifctdiurch.

Mr. J. _\V. I robert mentioned that the *J on ; K - Semple had been asked to push •the leading barrow in the procession

Pfincipa l fixture at Carlaw Park on Saturdaj will bo between the unbeaten Newton team nnd North Shore. Both teams have scored 10 iiointß in the competition, hut iShore has played six matches tv> Newton s live, having been iK'aten once. On they will be wifliout the services of Donaldson and Smith on account of injuries.
