DEVONPORT MOVE.
NEW COUNCIL CHAMBERS.
The final meeting of the Devonport Borough Council in the council chambers in Marine Squa.ro was held last night. By next meeting the premises will be shifted to chambers in Victoria Street, formerly the Devonport Post Office, which was purchased and remodelled.
The Mayor, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle, announced last night that, owing to the war, there would be no ceremony to mark the first use of the building. The present building, which has been in use for about 50 years, will be utilised as headquarters for ambulance and Plunket. Society work and local sports bodies, as a Centennial memorial.
