Senior Sergeant Joyce said that the defendants had made use of elastic and had tired Itcnt nails at two girls who were in the habit of taking a "stroll un Hobson Street to Karangahape Roail during the lunch hour. One girl had .in arm marked when struck by one of the nails.
One of the defendants said that they had since apologised to the girls. The magistrate fined each 'of the defendants £."{.
