South Africa's Air Training Scheme. BRITISH MISSION TO VISIT. British Official Wirt-lcss. (Received 1.30 p.m.) KU<;BY, April IS. Tlie Air Ministry announces that the British (ioverniiieut has gratefully accepted the offer by the South African (Joveriiment to afford facilities there for training of K.A.K. personnel for the South African Air Force. The offer also extends to British subjects from other parts of Africa.
The Air Ministry >ta*es that an air mission will shortly depart for South Africa to discuss necessary measures for the scheuie. The head of the mis-ion will be Air I'hief Marshal Sir llol>ert Brooke Popham. who assisted in the inauguration of the Kinpire air scheme. He has been closely associated with flying since 1012.
He will also visit Southern Rhodesia to promote the air training scheme which has been initiated by the Government of Southern Rhodesia.
