Norwegians And British Co-operate LANDINGS CONTINUE

(United Press Association.—Copyright.— Roc. noon.) LONDON, April 18. A War Office communique says the landing of British troops in Norway continues. Contacts have been made with the Norwegian forces and operations are proceeding. It is reported from Sweden that British troops landed at Namsos, just north of Trondheim and at the railway terminus. British planes bombed Sjordalshals, another town in Trondheim area. Meanwhile Norwegians are stubbornly resisting the German advance on Elverum (in Oslo area) from the south. The invaders encountered a large force of defenders strongly entrenched in the foothills of a mountain range. The Norwegians, holding a fort in the German rear, inflicted considerable losses. c jT'K, BritisH United Press special correspondent on the Swedish-Norwegian frontier says the entire British force assigned to the recapture of Narvik landed and made contact with the Norwegians. It is reported that it has gained a foothold in the village of Ankenes, on the west side of Narvik Bay.
