Originally conceived by the Sandon Old Boye' Association as a pioneers* memorial and later provisionally accepted as one of the three provincial Centennial memorials, it was finally "relegated" to the status of a "district" memorial. Losing none of its g-lamour by reason of the inevitable delays thus caused, the proposal was eventually heartily adopted by the different local authoritiej= in the Centennial district known a« Zone E and comprising the areas enumerated above.
