GERMAN NAVY.
LOSSES SINCE INVASION. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, April 15. Hitler's invasion of Norway last week resulted in casualties to the following ships of the German Navy inflicted by the British Fleet:—
A cruiser, believed to be the Karlsruhe, sunk by the Truant; the battleeruiser Scliarnhorst, badly damaged by the Renown; the pocket-battleship Admiral Scheer, torpedoed by the submarine Spearfish; seven destroyers sunk at Narvik, some of which had been previously damaged by British destroyers.
In addition, one cruiser was hit by a bomb and another of the Koln class was hit by three bombs at Bergen on Tuesday by Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm aircraft. The Norwegians claim the battle-cruiser Gneisenau, the 10,000ton cruiser Blucher and the 6000-ton cruiser Emden, sunk at Horten.
