ON 'CHANGE.
BUSINESS IS QUIETER. MOOD OF HESITANCY. There is still a feeling of hesitancy on the Auckland Stock Exchange and it wiil not be dispelled until the result of the conference between the chairman of the New Zealand Stock Exchanges and the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, is known. Representatives from Auckland left last night for Wellington. Values of New Zealand issues are still rising and shares not commonly quoted are finding their way on to the market again. A sale ot Hill and Plummer was recorded at the morning call to-day. The last was in August. Generally speaking, sellers are fewer, due again in a measure to the uncertainty of the position. Farmers' Trading Company have been quoted at a new high level—that of £1 I/. Holders have withdrawn to £1 2/. Bank of New Zealands and Wilsons Cements commanded greatest attention at the noon call, the former having latest sellers only a penny below the sales price and the latter being 3d on either side of the market. There was a slightly improved response from sellers of industrial and other shares, and values had a steadier tendency.
