KNIFE FLOURISHED. SKYLARKING AT WESTFIELD. MAGISTRATE DISMISSES CASE. "The management is trying to ptit a stop to skylarking," said SeniorSergeant Daly in the Otahuliu Policc Court, when two youths, Kenneth William Leng (Mr. Allan J. Moody) and Austin John Young (Mr. Holmden*, both aged 20 years, and employed at the Westfield freezing works, were charged with assault. Both youths pleaded not guilty. Cardwell Ford, in evidence, said he saw the two accused in altercation and told tliem to return to their work. Leng picked up a knife, flourished it. and when Young put his hand up the knife entered his arm. After hearing the ovidence. Mr. Moody said it was a case of real skylarking and the whole thin™ was admitted to be an accident by Young. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, in dismissing the esu for six months, said proceedings were brought as a warning to others and under the circumstances he would not enter a conviction, as he was satisfied that Leng " no intention of using the knife against Young.
