"The filly's not for sale now," said Mr. C. W. JSoyd when being congratulated upon the success of Classforni in the King George Handicap at Awapuni on Saturday.

"Don't you think she's worth keeping." (says "Kungitira"). Prior to the Auckland autumn meeting L'lassfoini might have been purchased for 1000 guineas, and probably less. But most racing men would have considered that far too high an estimate of her apparent worth. She has already won £760 in stakes since, and, with only an ounce of luck, she would ihave succeeded in both the Great Northern Oaks and the H. O. Nolan Handicap, which would have netted her another £000. At a dispersal sale held by her owner between days at Awapuni she was withdrawn from the ring at 875 guineas, the reserve on her being understood to be a four-figure price. Mr. Boyd considers that Claseforni was very unlucky not to have won the Nolan Handicap, in which she was beaten in the last stride by Yogi. Though he does not question the verdict, he thought the filly had been successful in that close finish and he was a very disappointed man when the numbers were hoisted.
