The report concluded with the following comment :--"From ihe fact that insufficient entries were received to warrant an intermediate tournament, a junior tournament and a handicap tournament, that the ladder is not used, that the monthly handicap tournament was unable to continue after ihe start of the summer etip contest, that tlie captains of the teams from the Auckland Chews Club in the league matches olten had difficulty in raising a team, that Hie captain of the Telesrrnph team had the greatest difficulty in obtaining 20 player* and that nim-meinbers had to be included as scrutineers all show that there are many who are prepared to accept the benefit* r.f the club without making any effort to help in the many difficulties that are presented in the running of it. It is a matter of deep regret that more interest is nut shown by many members."
