SALARY DEDUCTIONS.
TO AID PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Officers of the Post and Telegraph Department have asked the Department to deduct from their salaries each fortnightly payday varying sums of money which will be donated to the national and provincial patriotic funds. The annual total subscriptions will be between £5000 and £6000, the money to be allocated on the basis of one-third to be distributed among the 11 provincial funds and two-thirds to the national fund. The first deduction is to be made from salaries paid on April 4.
