A recruiting rally to be held in land on the evening of Wednesdif April 17, was announce,] bv quarters of the Northern Miihary tricl this morning. It is expected tl»; a public meeting in the Town Hall wj bo addressed by the Minister of IJj. fence, the Hon. F. Jones, and the fc Hon. J. G. Coates, M.C.
Prior to tfie meeting all units of % territorial forces and National ililitarr Reserve stationed in Auckland *4 march from the Drill Hall via Wellesley Street and Queen Street to the Po,Oifice, and will return by Queen Stj*j to arrive at the Town Hall at 7.45 pJ The band of the \-t Battalion, Auckland Regiment, and the pipe attached to the Auckland Company of the Xew Zealand Scottish will accompany the OiHJ troops on thei; march down Queen Street. Meann-Jij] e the Auckland .V: illcry Band will j>]j t outside the re.-.-uiting depot at tie Chief Post Oflke, and when the coltma has reached the foot of Queen Street this band will play the troops back to the Town Hall.
The Auckland Girls' Band has beei invited to march up Queen Street shortly before 7 o'clock and to play « the corner of Queen .Street and GrerV Avenue until 7.40. This band will pit oil the stage of the Town Hall from 7.4.» until o'clock.
In the hall, the bands are to be accommodated on the tiers of seats u the back of the stage and the troops will be seated in the body of the hall
The parade is to be commanded br Lieutenant Colonel F. C. Soar, EJX, is officer commanding the Ist RelJ Brigade, Kew Zealand Artillery, and tls adjutant will be Captain G. R. Blackett, M.C., Temporary Staff.
