Children's reactions to world event*, are always interesting and the air mail news featured in the current issue of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly" deals with the wonderful way in which boys and girls of Great Britain are facing up to the stress and turmoil of war. The writer describes a chat with three little girls, whose father commands a Xortli Sea minesweeper. "Daddy is in danger every hour of the day," said one little lass, "but mummy sars it's worth it, if we can only keep the Empire free."
Ihe editress deals with a problem that is vital to the interests of all wives an< \ mothers; the occupying of so'dier'e positions by refugees and the difficulties of reinstatement that are sure to follow the war. It is pointed out that under norma) circumstances we should welcome overseas workers who would undoubtedly increase our efficiency and brinjr in new ideas, but that whiie our country is at war it is foolish to allow foreigners to bore into the existence of Now Zealand families in this wav.
In an intriguing articles describing the live* of some of the world's richest children, including Gloria Vanderbilt. •Sliirley Temple and little Lance Reventlow, the writer come*; to the conclusion that provided the child is brought up with a sense of the right proportions enormous wealth will 'o an amet and not a hindrance. In addition, there are the usual interesting el-ort stones, a further instalment of that absorbing serial, "The Master of Hunter'* Horn." and six attractive free patterns to choose from.
