SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS.
A programme of contemporary British music was presented by the members of the Society of Musicians in the Overseas League rooms last evening. Dr. S. K. Phillips presided over a large audience, the famous New Zealand singer, Mr. Oscar Xatzke, being guest of honour. The programme consisted of pianoforte solos by Miss Freda Crook, Mrs. A. W. Macandrew, Miss Xetta Simich, and Miss Edna Bunting, and 6ongs bv Madame Aileen Johns, Miss Elizabeth Treves-Brown, Miss Nancve O'Connor, and Mr. Robert Simmers. Violin solos were played by Master Eric Craig, the Schubert scholarship \?inner for 1940.
