BETTER SEA SERVICE.
REQUEST AT WHANGAKEL (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Representatives of the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce met members of the Whangarei Harbour Board to discuss the present sea service from Auckland, which is considered to be inadequate. As a result the board will endeavour to arrange a conference with the ship-] ping interests, with a view to securing a service to meet business interests. It was stated that the railway service to Whangarei had adversely * affected seaborne traffic and threatened the revenue of the board.
