FIRM TONE MAINTAINED. AUSTRALIAN ISSUES FIRMER. The quiet but firm tone with which tl Auckland Stock Exchange closed last wee was evident at the first call to-day. Th was most evident in Australian issues, < which two may be taken as examples. They are Electrolytic Zincs and Broke Hill Proprietaries. For the ordinary issn of Zincs on Friday, buyers were £3 1, with sellers absent. This morning tli quote was £3 3/ for buyers, with sellei again silent. For the preference issue o Friday the quote was £3 2/ and £3 3 :. This morning the figures had shifted up t £3 3 o and £3 5 re>pectivelv.
