The Sunderland flyin* boats, built by the famous firm of Short Bros., of Rochester, are carrying out a number of duties in keeping- the skies and seas of Britain free of the enemy. The SunderUnd* are similar in many respects to the civilian Empire elasi flying boats built for Imperial Airways; a good number were finished before the war, among them the cross-Atlantic liners. The SunderUnd is of all-metal construction, and great care has been exercised to ensure a clean and dragiess exterior.
