DELHI, March 31

The president of the Moslem League, Mahomed AH Jinnah, has invited' Mahatma Gandhi to confer privately with him about partitioning India into Moslem and Hindu States. In an interview he said he would be satisfied with Dominion status for Moslem India within the British Commonwealth.

"(iandhi. like me. knows India is not ready for complete independence," he lidded.

The Norwegian Government has strongly protested to Berlin against the sinking of the Steinstad on February 22. It stated that the ship was en route to Turkey from a neutral port. The crew were not given time to take to the boats.
