CONCESSION FARES.

TRAVELLERS BY TRAINS. CROSSES ON MORTUARY VAN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. For those who desire to attend the funeral of Mr. Savage at Auckland on Sunday and return during the weekend, the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, has announced that concession fares will be granted to the extent of first-claes travel for secondclass fares and a 25 per cent reduction on fares for second-class. The train by which Mr. Savage's body is to be conveyed to Auckland will make short stops at the main stations to allow those desirous of doing so to pay silent tribute to the late Prime Minister. The mortuary van will be marked with white crosses. Ministers of the Crown and a limited number of others will travel to Auckland by a special train which is to leave Wellington on Saturday at- 10.20 a.m. An overnight stop will be made at Taumarunui, where this train is due at 8.53 p.m.

Arrangements have been made for floral tributes to be received at Parliament House. The Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, has been requested to invite business people to close their premises from 9 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. on Saturday to enable all citizens who so desire to pay their respects to the late Prime Minister. •
