MEMORIAL SERVICE. FRANCE DEEPLY SHOCKED. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, thie day. The acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, has received a cable from General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., Officer Commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, expressing the sympathy of the troops in Egypt upon the death of Mr. Savage, and adding that a. memorial service will be held On Friday evening in Cairo Cathedral, after the conclusion of the day's training.
