MR. SAVAGE.

AND HIS PEOPLE. NEWS TO RELATIVES. MENTAL ALERTNESS. REPORT FOR LABOUR PARTY. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star") WELLINGTON*, this day. Owing to the critical condition of the Prime Minister last night, the Hon. P. Webb, a boyhood friend of Mr. .Savage, spent the night at his residence, Harbour View Road, Northland. The Prime Minister has no relatives in New Zealand, but a brother and a sister live in Victoria. They were given details of the Prime Minister's condition yesterday, when .Mr. Webb was able to utilise the radio telephone for a transTasman eon venation. Throughout his illness Mr. Savage showed no diminution of mental alertness, and nntil a week ago read his most important correspondence and signed the replies. Greatest evidence of his mental vigour is to be seen in a report he personally wrote for the Kaster conference of the Labour party. This was completed to be presented to delegates to-day.
