German economic delegation to Bucharest, headed by Dr. Clodhis, has been noted by (he Rumanian Government as extremist in i(s terms, and the Government states that it will not tolerate such methods. However, the recent messages from Bucharest deny that the statesmen'; is in the nature of an ultimatum, but regard it as a guide for economic discussions.
It is understood that it contains a fourpoint base for talk* between Germany and Rumania.
South eastern Europe stands at the crossroads as other vital diplomatic manoeuvres develop, most important of which are: First, the possibility of M. MolotofT, the Soviet Foreign Minister, paying ;i visit to Berlin shortly, accompanied by military and economic experts; secondly, the recall of the Tnvkish Ambassadors from Moscow and from Bucharest to Ankara to confer with the Foreign Office; thirdly, the arrival in Home to-morrow of Count Teleki. Prime Minister of Hungary; and fourthly, The reported visit of von Ribbontrop, Nazi Foreign Minister, to Belgrade shortly.
