OPIUM ON PREMISES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Thursday. A raid in Ilaining Street, last night resulted in the prosecution of six Chinese to-day. One was fined £o0 and costs for permitting premises to be used for opium smoking. Two of (he others wore fined £2.1 and costs for being on the premises. The others were fined £2,->, £1.") and £12 10/.
The premises, as usual, were found to be heavily barricaded.
