CANADA'S EFFORT.
WAR LOAN AND MEN. A 20.000,000-dollar war loan in Canada had been subscribed three times over, said the Rev. Dr. J. Gibson Inkstcr! chaplain to the Toronto Scottish Tlegjment, in an address at the monthly luncheon of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association. "We have had to stop enlisting men in Canada because we have all the men we can take, and there are. others waiting," Dr. Inkstcr said. "I hope that day will not be far away in New Zealand. I hope tiie men will all volunteer and that if they do not there will be conscription. Some of my clergymen friends think 1 am a pagan. But you cannot make peace with a tiger, a lion or a snake. Wo have to deal with him in another way."
