MOTHS AND BUTTERFLIES.
What is the difference between a motli and a butterfly? Here are some points which will help you to distinguish the two. Moths are not usually so gaily-coloured as 'butterflies, and they arc fond of flitting about at night when their cousins, the butterflies, are asleep. They are, of course, seen in the sunshine ae» well. Moths spread out their wings or fold them over their backs when they arc at rest, in contrast wS'Ji the butterflies, whose wings are held upright, close together. The* butterfly's antennae are straight and have thickened tips, but those of the moth arc sometimes feathery.
