Trees, tall and sombre, some swaying with the light breeze', covered the hills, while weeping-willows, n<s if seeking with tapering fingers something they had lost, trailed their delicate branches' in the placid depths of the In the green fields could be seen wild flowers growing in pn.fu.~i.in. foxgloves lifted their proud heads, daisies opened their frilly skirls and peeped at the warm sun; hawthorns glowed like halls of lire in their prickly shelters, and violets lav nestled under the green hedges, their delicate- fragrance wafted awav on the breeze. Nature's choirsingers could be heard tilling the world with happy songs that lightened a heavy heart. It was a glorious dream, all this, to the hoy who looked out of his window.
