Chapel Wedding.

BRIDSON—GILCHRIST. A quiet wedding took place at the Mariners' Chapel of St. Peter. Flying Angel Mission to Seamen, on Thursday afternoon, wiien Aliss Ada Gilchrist, voungest daughter of Air. P. Gilchrist and the late Airs. Gilchrist, of Te Aroha. was married to Lieutenant G. Bridson, Royal Xaval Volunteer Reserve, only son of .Mr and Airs. W. .1. Bridson, of Auckland. The Rev. 11. K. Vickery. port chaplain, officiated.

The bride, who was given awav bv her father, wore a frock of clover marocain, relieved with gold, anil a hat to match, and she carried a bouquet to tone.

The bridesmaid was Aliss K. Falls, who wore a teal-blue frock and hat, and she carried a bouquet to tone. .SecondLieutenant P. Gilchrist, brother of the bride, was best man.

After the ccrcmonv a quiet reception was held at the Star Hotel, relatives only being present. The guests were received by the bride's sister, Aliss Alarjorie Gilchrist, and the bridegroom's mother. The former wore black niarocaiu with inlet pleats in emerald green, and a lilack hat, and her bouquet was of pink roses and delphiniums. Airs. Bridson wore black marocain with satin applique, a black hat, and carried a bouquet of autumn shades. LEAGUE OF MOTHERS. Balmoral.—Airs. 1-:. Rich presided at the monthly meeting of the Balmoral branch of the League of Mothers. 'Mr. K. G. Jones gave n talk on "Everyday Life in the U.S.A." The comparison of prices of evervdav commodities was of interest to all*. Vocal solos were rendered by Airs. Dickson, and elocutionary items by Airs. Cunningham.

Henderson.—Airs. Walsh presided at the March meeting and reported on the annual conference. Discussions took place on "Is Our Branch the Powerhouse It Should Be J"

Takapuna.—The first monthly meeting of the Takapuna branch of tlie League of Mothers was held in the Parish Hall. The speaker was Airs. Finlayson, who gave a talk on the Pilcairn Islanders and also spoke on the branch of the League of Mothers formed at Pitcairn.

Papatoetoe.—Mrs. Partridge presided over the first meeting of the year of the Papatoetoo branch, hold in the Methodist Hall. Songs by Mr.-. Sibbons, of Onehunga. and n duct by Mrs. Wainwright and Mrs. .Icficry, were much appreciated. An address was given by Mrs. Kirkpatrirk, of Onehunga. and Mrs. Why to. of Manurcwa, gave a brief resume of the conference. The thought for the .month was given by Mis. l'ctt ridge. MANX SOCIETY. Tlie monthly social and dance of the Auckland Manx Society was held at the Harmony Hall. An enjoyable evening was spent by the members r.nd friends from kindred' societies, who were welcomed by the president, Mr. 11. Gatficld. The hostesses for the evening were the Misses Cashin. Prize-winners were Mr. and Mrs. Caton (Monte Carlo), Mrs. Knaplon and Mr. George Gatficld, Jun. (lucky numbers). The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mrs. George Gatficld and Mrs. George Cregeen. Mrs. MacPhcrson presided at the piano.

The monthly meeting of the Western Springs Women's Movement was held in the Congregational Church, Airs. Purdom presiding.
