Ke-exports were £2,432,049, The princip-.il increases in imports were: ft rain and flour, £2,771.000: meat, £1,400,000: dairy produce, £441,000: beveragew, • £1,121,000: other foods, £2,043.000; iron ore and scrap, £495,000; non-ferrous and metalliferous ores, £433.000; raw cotton, 1 £6,158,000; .wool, £4,270,000; other textile materials, £602,000; oil seeds and oils, £1.041,000; hides and skins. £300.000; papermaking materials, £034,000; rubber, £377,000. Other Imports. Miscellaneous raw material. £594,000; iron and steel. £050.000; non-ferrous metals. £ 1,525,000; machinerv, £494.000; general textile manufactures,' £1,063.000; manufactured oils and fats, £3,102,000; paper, £593,000. Kxport increase* were: Beverages,
£691,000; coal, £352.000: cotton vain manufacture*, £1,241.000; and w<?.llcn yarn manufactures, £409,000; chemicals, £734,000. I Decreases iiv imports were:—Tobacco, £337.000; apparel, £538.000; miscellaneous manufactures. £393.000; exports of iron and steel manufactures, £370.000; mncbincrv, £1,136,000: vehicles, £2,880,000. 1 Re-exports were:—Wool, £855,000; ! hides, £830.000. UNITED STATES WHEAT. SMALLEST IN 40 YEARS. NEW YORK, March 20. The United States Department of Agriculture estimates that the wheat crop will be the smallest in 40 years, powiblv about 600.000,000 bushels, from 46.000,000 acres. The prospects are reduced by the severest autumn and winter drought recorded.
