GRAMMAR SCHOOL'S PROBLEM
HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION.
The difficulty of providing accommodation for school boarders desirous of attending the Auckland Grammar School was discussed at a meeting of the Grammar School Board yesterday, when [Thomas Cook and Son wrote asking the board's attitude to bringing ont school boarders from the East. J The chairman, Dr. E. Roberton, said [he thought the board should endeavour to cater for those people who wished to send their children from the East to be educated in New Zealand rather than in England The accommodation problem was a difficult one. Mr. J. Victor Macky said' worthy people from the Empire should not be shut out. '• Mr. A. St. Clair Brown said that at the only hostel under the board's control there had been a waiting list for three 'years, and people who wished to send their children out to New Zealand should .be warned that accommodation was very ■ishort. ij The secretary was Instructed to reply |to the letter setting out the UeU .{relating to accommodation.
