RIVER TRAGEDY.
YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED. ON HOLIDAY IN NEI^ON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' NELSON, this day. The holiday of two Wellington girls in Nelson had a tragic ending yesterday when one drowned while bathing in the Maitai River. The victim of the accident was Kiss Eugenie Clare Doohan, aged 24 years, of Hill Street, Wellington. An attempt at rescue by two women failed, and efforts at artificial respiration by a member of St. John Ambulance.
