CRICKET IS NEARING END OF SEASON.

Two more series of games in the first grade championship of the Auckland Cricket Association will be played before Ettster, which usually marks the close of competition play, but, as the holiday period is unusually early this year, it Is anticipated that u further series will be decided after Easter to <!iualise the championship. Due to the large number of wet Saturdays and the long break at Christmas the 1039-40 season has proved one of the most unsatisfactory in the annals of Auckland cricket.
