"A GALLANT FIGHT."
"That was a gallant fight off the River Plate, and I am glad that New Zealand was gloriously represented." That is the tribute paid to the Achilles by Sir Roger Keyes, a retired admiral of the British Navy, in a letter received by Mr. J. Attwood, of Albany. Mr. Attwood served under Sir Roger Keyes during the last war, and took part in the Zeebrugge raid.
