N.Z. PATIENTS.

Merry Christmas Party At Falkland Islands. MATRON DEEPLY IMPRESSED. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, February 20. The. matron of the hospital in the Falkland Islands, where the injured heroes of the River Plate battle were taken, in a letter to her parents describes a Christmas party in which New Zealand sailors put on grass skirts and danced round the wards. "This greatly delighted the patients whose heroism, cheerfulness and patience make one realise what a lot of bosh is talked about the degeneration of the British race," she states. Only two died in hospital and the rest are well on the road to recovery. Very few will be permanently disabled.
