SEMAPHORE SIGNALLING. HOBART, February 13. Nearly 50 years ago, when the last semaphore standing on Mount Nelson which overlooks the approach up the River Derwent, was demolished, the signal arms were set to the number in i the code book which represented "Forgotten"—signifying the breaking of the la«t link with the semaphore system of airmailing. It was customary for all signals to be acknowledged, but that last one from Mount Kelson was not answered until this month when, on the recently restored semaphore in Princes Park at Hobart tbe signal "Remembered 1 * wa« made. It was a salute to the past, and a reminder that in tbe memorial there w a perpetual recognition of the part played by the semaphore and the signallers in the early history of Tasmania. The memorial, which is probably unique in Australia, cousiste. of the oid signal station and signalling apparatus restored in all its essential details, and it was dedicated by the Lord Mayor of Hobart (Mr. J.
