UNIVERSITY AFFAIRS.
A decision was made at a meeting of the Auckland University College Council yesterday to make rebates of fees, to students who cease to attend lectures owing to their having enlisted with the military forces. Proportional rebates will be made as from the end of the term in which the student enters upon service. A _ motion of sympathy with hi* relatives was parked in connection with the death of Mr. H. S. Dcttinann. formerly professor of classics at the collepe and later head-master of the Sydney Grammar Bchool. Tributes were paid to his services to the college.
