"The battle for Italian selfsufficiency will continue, in order to assure the people of bread and means of defence," declared Signor Mussolini, in a speech in connection with the national wheat-growing competition. Hβ described the 1030 harvest of 80.000,000 quintals ns most satisfactory. The next harvest would be most Important in view of the war, which wns of nn economic character. "A deficient harvest can' be equivalent to a. battle lost," he concluded. "Italian peasants, while the world is upside down, will give nn example of discipline, thinking only of how to obtain e harvest of 00,000,000 quintals, which would be a victory for the whole nation."
