RAIDS AT TE AWAMTJTTT.

TE AWAMUTU, Saturday.
As the result of a raid made bv; Hamilton and Te Awamutu police this! morning, James Orr, hairdresser, Alex-j andra Street, and Thomas Carter. 1 hairdresser and tobacconist. Sloancj Street, were charged before Mr. W. 1 Swain, J.P.. at the Te Awamutu Court| to-day with keeping common gaming houses. On the application of the police,! remands were granted until February 9, when a magistrate will hear the charges. Orr and Carter we.e admitted to bail, in their own recognisances, of £100 and * muetj for a like amount.
