After a relentless Finnish attack which lasted for days, <15,000 Russians are reported to be in full flight on the Salla front. In view of the collapse of the Russian supporting forces in the Petsamo, Kuusamo and Suomussalmi sectors, the Finns Tjclicvc their "waistline" is safe until the spring. The Reds were within twenty miles of Kemittrack, from which the railway runs through Rovaniemi to the Gulf of Bothnia.
