BOOMERANG THROWING.
As an Australian visitor to Xcw Zealand I was much intrigued by a query that appeared in the letter of "Harassed Worker." I refer to the question of whether or not an aboriginal can throw a. boomerang so that, it returns to his hand, without his shifting from the spot. Boomerang throwing is the principal sport of the blacks on"my uncle's station in New South Wales, and, as a matter of fact, they usually do catch hold of the boomerang whcii it returns to them. Furthermore, T cannot recall <1110 instance wliero X have seen ;i thrower step away from the positional which'he. throw—that is, of course, if ho had any idea of catollin" the boomerang 011 its return.
