FIRST-FLIGHT COVERS. ADVKK TO I'll 1 l/AXKUSTS. (From Our Corresponds I.) DUXFIMX, this day. The t rans-Tasinan air mail service i: to begin at an early date, possibly at short notice. This advice has been received by the Chief Postmaster, .Mr. X. I\. Mclsaae. who outlined to-day the arrangements made to mark the occasion in the interests of philatelists. All letters dispafcTied by the first flight are to be distinctly marked with a rubber stamp as follows, "New Zea* land-Australia- Kngland— through air mail service inaugural lliglit," with additional perhaps of the month and the year. All articles received by the first lliglit will be machine back-stamped at Auckland. There will be no provision for letters for New Zealand addresses, that is "Return covers" to be forwarded by the service. Because of the operation of the censorship. it will be necessary to fix the closing times for the mails well in advance of the scheduled times of departure of the living boats operating the | service, and to assist in ensuring connection with the first outward tlight it is suggested to philatelists that first flight i covers should be posted unsealed. This will geeatly facilitate the censorship work. The unsealed covers will be sealed by the censor. I Sure relief for coughs, colds, Woods' ' Great Peppermint Cure. — (Ad.)
